I have a conversation with Sacha Lindekens, Ph.D., a Partner with Avion Consulting where he advises organizations on strategies to attract, develop and retain top talent and works with leaders to maximize their individual and team effectiveness. We discuss emotional intelligence and the 4 quadrants that are a part of it: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. We discuss how this skill set is necessary to be effective leaders so we are aware of how emotions unconsciously affect us, our logic and our ability to connect with others.

While at the Service Summit in San Francisco I had a conversation with a few members of the GSAB: Terra Mann the Director of Operations at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, Adam Edelman the Director of Operations at Hyatt Regency Orange County and Brad Nelson an Assistant F&B Manager at Hyatt Regency Denver Convention Center. They share what the Guest Service Advisory Board is from its creation to the work they’ve done that was introduced at the Service Summits. They discuss their journey in creating tools and resources to make Operations Leaders jobs easier and so they may connect with others for assistance and to share ideas.
